This past week 14U-Troy competed in the "Triple Crown World Series" for their final tournament of the summer 2019 season. Their schedule was jam packed with competitive team, after competitive team the entire week!! 14U Troy stepped up to the plate ready to show their competitors what they were made of.
Storm went (3-1) their 1st 4 games in pool play defeating the USA Athletics, Sundodgers, and the Nor Cal Elite. Their pool play recored solidified them a spot advancing in the gold bracket for the elimination play.
In eliminations play 14U Troy was able to secure a win in their 1st game which enabled them to continue to compete. They went on to play two tough teams back to back. Their 1st loss in the elimination rounds came from a competitive Batbuster team (that went on to win the tournament) and their final loss to a tough NW Bullets team, which eliminated them from play. They ended the tournament with a 4-3 overall record.
This was a fantastic showing for this team and the numbers don't quite do justice to the amount of great ball played by 14U-Troy and their coaches. The coaching staff emphasizes that the players came together in a total team effort with dependable and steady pitching, basically errorless defense and constant and clutch hitting. The coaching staff and the Storm Organization are very proud of the players and their ability to compete ending the season strong. Great job players and coaches.
