By ss, 09/24/19, 12:00PM PDT

This past weekend 5 of the 7 Storm Teams held down the fort in Salinas at the "Swinging for a Cure" Tournament. The teams represented the Storm Organization game after game displaying a consistent and competitive approach.  There was  no question the teams were there to make a statement.  16U Troy, 14U Bramers, and 10u Justin/Noe ended Sunday as Champions in the gold bracket.  14U Enny Champions silver bracket and 12U Meza made it to the semifinals gold bracket in their 1st tournament of the Fall.  Thank you coaches and players for your hard work,  dedication , and commitment representing Storm!!!!!

16U Troy went undefeated the entire weekend with a record of 6-0.  On Saturday they were missing a couple players and even played an extra game.  It took an entire team effort and grit from their pitchers along with consistent defense and offense to win all 4 games on Saturday.  As a number one seed going into Sunday,  they had a little recovery time before playing their 1st game at 11am.   On Sunday they continued the momentum from Saturday and defeated team after team to  earn their way to the championship game where they competed against the Mavericks-Cox team.  The game ended in an 11-4 score with Storm leaving the park as CHAMPIONS!! Awesome job coaches and players way to start off the season with a Championship early on.

14U Bramers opened up their fall season this weekend with a 5-1 record and earned the title CHAMPION, not bad for the start of the season.  On Saturday 14U Bramers was off to a great start defeating the Mavericks and the Rebels before they were defeated their last game of the day by the Cal Nuggets.  The loss on Saturday evening did not sit well with Bramers and fueled the team to compete and focus at a higher level  on Sunday.   They started their journey at 8am and found themselves in the Championship game at 5pm. It took an entire team effort to win the tournament.  We are excited to watch this team compete this fall!!!

10U Justin/Noe came into this weekend with determination and their eyes and a goal of leaving Champions.   They went undefeated on Saturday and Sunday with a 6-0 record and took home the CHAMPIONSHIP trophy. In their last two tournaments they have made the championship game. The first tournament they fell a little short, but they made up for it this weekend.   We are extremely excited to watch this team as they continue to grow and develop individually and as a unite.  Great job Coaches and Players.

14U Enny started off the weekend strong winning both of their 1st two games while falling short in their 3rd game on Saturday. The loss of their 3rd game and the amount of the runs they allowed scored put them in the Silver bracket for Sunday.   14U  Enny was not going to let that stop them.  They came out more determined then ever winning both their games on Sunday and  earning their way to the championship game later in the day against the Rebels.  Both teams battle back and forth for 11 innings over 3 hrs with the game ended in a score 11-11.  14U Enny finished 5-1 for the weekend. Great job ladies and coaches we are very proud of you.

12U Meza kicked off their fall season this week at the "Swinging For A Cure" Tournament.  They played well all weekend long.   Saturday they went  2-1 placing them in the gold bracket for play on  Sunday. On Sunday they won their first game and  advanced to the semi-finals against the Hollister Blackjacks.   12U Meza left all they had on the field where they were defeated by a tough Hollister Blackjacks team who went on to win the tournament.   12U Meza ended the tournament 3-2 record. Great job on your first tournament 12U Meza players and coaches.
